This year's theme, "A Rose that Grew from Concrete" borrows from a collection of poems by rapper, activist, and poet, Tupac Shakur. It speaks to the resilience and beauty that courses through our veins and gives our communities life. A rose captures just that, no matter the shape, size, or shade that it reveals itself to us in. and when it has grown from the concrete and beat all odds formed against it, it has a story to tell.
